Our story
Icon opened on Marathonweg with one intention: to give women in Amsterdam-Zuid a salon where the person who listens is the person who cuts. No rotation of juniors, no handovers halfway through, no rushing to free the chair.
That intention shapes everything, from how many appointments we take in a day to the way the room is reset between clients. Fewer chairs per hour, more attention per client, and a result that still sits properly on the fourth morning.
Our guests come from Apollobuurt, Stadionbuurt, Museumkwartier, Oud-Zuid, Hoofddorppleinbuurt and the offices of Zuidas, and most of them arrived because someone in the neighbourhood sent them. Word of mouth is the only marketing that survives a bad haircut, so we treat every visit as the reason for the next one.

Our philosophy
Every appointment opens with a proper conversation: hair type, density, growth pattern, the routine you actually keep and the ten minutes you really have in the morning. Then we tell you honestly what will work and what will not.
We consult, we craft, we finish with care. Coffee, tea and water are always on us. You leave knowing what was done, which products were used, and how to recreate it yourself on a Tuesday.
If something does not sit right in the days after, come back and we adjust it. That is the standard here, not a favour.
The space
